Ownership
ECI is a private company registered and controlled in the UK. All the shares are held by NCI, and as such ECI is an independent but wholly owned subsidiary of the National Captioning Institute. NCI is a US non-profit corporation established in 1979 to deliver captioning services and to pioneer, fund and develop all media access services for the benefit of people who require additional access to auditory and visual information. The company is headquartered in Vienna, Virginia, near Washington, D.C. and has offices in Burbank (California) and Dallas (Texas).
