ECI offers the opportunity of work placements at one of our offices to anyone interested in entering the subtitling industry.
Work placements are involved with the Production, Translation and English Departments of the company.
In particular, you will assist with the management of subtitling projects relating to back catalogue and current release films and TV series for DVD. Duties will include: helping set up freelance translators and saving their work; proofreading and checking files; checking and archiving of materials; dubbing tapes and uploading video files on the server; translation, subtitling and quality control (QC) work into your native language and creating translation templates.
A work placement at ECI is an excellent opportunity for you to develop skills that are difficult to come by when attending one of the University subtitling courses. A placement will also provide you with useful work experience, helping you to further your career in the industry. More than half of the people who have taken advantage of a work placement opportunity at ECI have been offered either in-house or freelance work with us.
