How do I know that I am registered self-employed?
You must be registered with the Revenue & Customs (formerly Inland Revenue) as self-employed. Please contact them to find out how to do this.
How do I tell ECI that I am registered self-employed?
You must complete a Self-Employed Declaration form (automatically sent out once you have successfully completed your test).
What is the invoicing procedure if I am registered self-employed in the UK?
- Invoices need to be received by the 20th of every month, e.g. work carried out between 21st July and 19th August must appear on an invoice dated August and received no later than the 20th August.
- Payment will be made 45-60 days after issue of invoice .
