ECI can accept picture assets in any of the following formats:
- Beta SP tapes (VITC only required)
- Digi Beta tapes (VITC only required)
- DVCam tapes (SMPTE timecode required)
- VHS tapes (VITC/BITC required)
- .mpeg1 files (BITC required)
- .avi files (BITC required)
ECI would ideally like to use the highest specification of picture asset available, preferably in a digital format. Assets can be accepted in PAL or NTSC (drop or non-drop) but all tapes need to be clearly marked.
While VHS is the most commonly supplied asset, this format is not the most stable and, therefore, VHS tapes must be created using the following spec:
PAL
- BITC at top of frame
- VITC on lines 19 and 21
NTSC
- BITC at top of frame
- VITC on lines 17 and 19 OR 18 and 20
The timecode on the working tapes provided should always be as on the master tape.
